For today's S&T, I'd like to show you another treasure that I inherited from my Gramma (when she moved to Florida). It's an Edward Roos Cedar Chest. The company was located near Chicago in Forest Park, Illinois. I've tried to find out more about them, but there's little information. I have found that there are a lot of folks out there with Roos Cedar Chests though.
I think it has a art deco feel to it. I need to get the legs worked on a bit...

That's really pretty. What do you keep in it? I have a trunk that my grandmother left me, in the process of being restored/preserved. I am having it cedar-lined on the bottom and want to start keeping my blankets in it.

That is a beautiful cedar chest! When I was younger I opted for an old steamer trunk rather than the traditional "hope chest." It's hard to find nice cedar chests that aren't a fortune. Yours was definitely at a great "price"
Beautiful. I love that it has longer legs. Many just sit on the floor or have very short legs. And the carvings are lovely as well.

Connie, I keep old wool blankets, sweaters and other things in it. It still has a good cedar smell as well.
Would love to see your trunk after you get it restored, I am sure it is quite lovely.
